We are seeking a Research Manager who will work across all components of the clinical research pathway to:
- Facilitate the development of TOGA clinical research
- Manage collaborations for TOGA active clinical research
- Enable translation of thoracic cancer research advances
About Thoracic Oncology Group of Australasia
The Thoracic Oncology Group of Australasia (TOGA) is a company limited by guarantee and registered charity with deductible gift recipient status. TOGA voluntary members represent the full range of professional disciplines involved in caring for patients with thoracic cancers, clinical trial professionals and consumer representatives. TOGA provides a collaborative environment for respiratory physicians, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, palliative care specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, scientists and nurses, across Australia and New Zealand and internationally to design, conduct and publish clinical trials, and through review of clinical and scientific evidence, provide a cutting-edge educational program to inform best practice care and improve outcomes for lung cancer and mesothelioma patients.
Tasks and responsibilities of the role
- Expand and build TOGA's clinical research program through management of existing stakeholders and identification of new opportunities
- Engage with national expert clinician and scientific researchers to progress clinical research concepts through a peer-review development pathway
- Coordinate scientific input into cohesively written grant applications, podcast briefs, educational event programs, stakeholder consultations and TOGA communications
Key Selection Criteria
- Relevant scientific or health-related tertiary qualification or completion of appropriate work experience.
- Strong knowledge of oncology healthcare systems and patient care
- Experience in the coordination of healthcare or scientific research projects or programs, and management of a diverse range of stakeholders
- Familiarity with clinical trial processes and milestones
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience translating research into written communications for both research-experienced and lay audiences
- Experience with grant applications and reporting
- Experience in managing 3rd party providers
- Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, establish and work within timelines.
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrated proficiency with Customer Relationship Management systems e.g Salesforce
- Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the National Statement, The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and Medicines Australia Code of Conduct
