Provisional Fellow positions in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine are available at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, for up to 12 months from 04 August 2025.

The position provides Advanced Trainees an opportunity to further their training, developing skills important for a consultant role in the spheres of clinical care, education and training as well as research with support from the team consultants and other health care professionals. The Provisional Fellow role is a leadership role, both within the department for other junior medical staff and medical students as well as members of the multidisciplinary team, but also across the broader hospital community.

Selection Criteria:

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Registered with the RACP, CICM, ANZCA or equivalent. Preference will be given to trainees working towards a career in intensive care.
  3. A minimum of 18 months intensive care experience.
  4. Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
  5. Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, with a willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff.
  6. Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
  7. Demonstrated competency in paediatric life support with qualifications in APLS (instructor preferable) or equivalent. Please provide details.
