The successful Fellow will be provided higher specialist training in paediatric interventional radiology techniques, clinical care, teaching and research in order to facilitate optimum delivery of paediatric interventional radiology services at Westmead and Randwick campuses of Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN).
Paediatric Interventional Radiology focuses on providing minimally invasive image guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for children referred to / being cared at the Randwick and Westmead campuses of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (SCHN).
The PIR postgraduate fellow will be responsible for participating in the provision of optimum image guided and IR services to the patients of SCHN in accordance with procedure manuals, WHS Radiation Safety and ethics guidelines.
Provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff.
Abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
- Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists or other specialist qualification as provided under the Staff Specialist (State) Award and holds an EPA Licence at time of commencement.
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
- Demonstrated (log-book) ability and competence in basic radiology interventions (including CT, US, Fluoroscopic guided procedures) with at least 6 months of experience in paediatric radiology or interventional radiology or both
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
