About The Role:
The Network & Security Engineer is a member of the Infrastructure Support team providing expert (Level 3) support for the institute's IT Network Infrastructure. This includes:
- Proven experience in solution design and implementation across network and security
- Monitor and be responsible for incidents/requests assigned to the team queue from the IT Service desk.
- Actively seek opportunities for functional and process improvement via automation and network identification and detection
- Maintains documentation of the network security infrastructure and recommend improvements to network management.
- Management, improvements and on boarding mobility & security services (FortiGate Next-gen firewalls IPS/IDS, URL & Application Filtering & SD-WAN, Secure Access Edge Services, Zero Trust Network Access, Intrusion prevention and Advanced Thread Protection)
- Maintain, improve the Cisco ISE environment and ensure relevant security policies are in place.
- Maintain and troubleshoot routing with OSPF, EiGRP, BGP and MPLS network.
- Maintain and improve the Cisco catalyst and Meraki wireless network

- Tertiary Degree in IT, Cisco Certified Network Professional campus network, Fortinet NSE level 3,certification in SASE, CASB, Remote Access
- Minimum eight years' experience in enterprise network and security role
- Highly developed communication/interpersonal skills with a demonstrated record of strong commitment and achievement in meeting stakeholder needs
- Analytical and problem-solving ability, and capacity to devise, deliver and monitor practical solutions.
- Time management and organisational skills, including the ability to set project plans and manage key milestones and deliverables.
