Research Assistant - Arrhythmia Research

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general and specialist medical services throughout inpatient, outpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

Our research has a strong focus on patient education and patient centered care. We are looking for the right candidate to join our successful Cardiac Research team. We are a part of the Melbourne Heart Rhythm team, working in conjunction with the Arrhythmia Service at the Department of Cardiology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Your new role:

  • The research assistant will support the Arrhythmia research team with all existing and new clinical research studies within the Department of Cardiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. These include investigator-initiated and commercial trials.
  • The research assistant will assist with patient screening and recruitment, data collection, data entry and resolution of queries following patient visits, and careful maintenance of investigator site files in accordance with hospital protocols and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Providing administrative support such as scheduling patient visits, organising research equipment and inventory, and accurately maintaining records.
  • Collaborating with other team members including research nurses and investigators to contribute to overall research goals and recruitment targets.

About you:

  • Demonstrate high level of organisational skills, manage time effectively and plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, enthusiasm to learn and flexibility.
  • Research experience is preferable and a current GCP certification (or willingness to complete).
