About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise to drive change which improves agility in software delivery. This role will be hands on in building, releasing, maintaining and enhancing DevOps services that are fit for purpose, resilient and reusable.
The role combines software development activities and drives standard practices supporting system-controlled governance and automation throughout. It provides technical advice to the team and supports its platforms, maintenance, and administration. The role works collaboratively with key stakeholders and other ICT teams to deliver complex and innovative solutions in alignment with ICT strategy and architecture.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Work with the DevSecOps team to drive practises such as CI/CD, build automation, and observability outcomes, contribute to coaching development team members to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compliant services and a positive customer experience.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure the technological endeavours are aligned with the business endeavours.
- Provide technical expertise to product development and platform solution design and work across product teams as part of the discovery process to foster a culture of collaboration and ensure optimum service delivery.
- Contribute to the design of systems through consultation with stakeholders supported by your knowledge of industry best practice and standards.
- Build, fine-tune, and manage the software development lifecycle framework, applying best practice methodologies and industry-recognised standards to improve platform product quality, security and reuse and reduce operational risk.
Our ideal candidate will have a keen interest, knowledge and experience in applying DevOps practices and principles in complex environments and can identify and manage cyber security risks in established software supply chains. You will have awareness of industry best practices and possess excellent stakeholder management, organisational and communication skills.
