The Office of People is all about enhancing the student and staff experience! Our focus is always on people first, our students, our staff and anyone who engages in any way with us. This focus has been embedded across our functional areas ranging from people strategy, talent acquisition and development, workforce planning, pay and benefits, employment relations, wellbeing and safety, student job readiness, and maintaining connections with alumni.


The Opportunity

As a member of the People Leadership Team, you will be pivotal in shaping and implementing strategies to boost organisational effectiveness and engagement. You will lead initiatives to foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusivity, aligning with the University’s strategic objectives. Your collaboration across the division and University leadership will be crucial in designing and delivering our programs of work.

Initial priorities will include renewing our remuneration framework for senior staff, accelerating talent management for the top 150 staff, developing the People Systems Roadmap, and updating key policies.

Your future focus will see you supporting the coordination of the next People Strategy, engaging key stakeholders, including the Senior Executive and the People and Culture Board Committee, to gather input and establish support. This strategy will guide the Office of People towards innovative people strategies, enhancing the University's 2026 Strategy, Sustaining Success.

About You

Most importantly, you care about people, you bring compassion into building connection and cohesion, encourage critical thinking and curiosity and challenge the status quo so we all contribute our collective future and outcomes for the Western Sydney community.

You have extensive experience in senior roles within organisational development, change management, and talent management, preferably in large and complex organisations. Your strong leadership skills and proven ability to inspire, motivate, and influence others at all levels of the organisation make you an ideal candidate. You are well-rounded and capable of effectively leading organisational development initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the organisation. Additionally, you have comprehensive knowledge of modern HR practices, including technology, digital enablement, and HR systems.
