Napthine draws out decision, waiting for more talks
The Victorian Premier is continuing to insist on further negotiations with time supposedly running out to sign up for Gonski reforms.
Dr Denis Napthine will have a meeting with the new Prime Minister Kevin Rudd sometime next week, possibly over the phone, where he’s expected to continue his call for more control over planned education reform budgetary spending.
Victoria had been given until June 30 to sign on, it appears now Dr Napthine intends to extend that deadline.
Victorian Education Minister Martin Dixon says there will be no deal until Mr Rudd announces his cabinet.
