Horrigan named Monash's new Law Dean
The Monash University has announced renowned researcher and legal consultant Professor Bryan Horrigan as its new Dean of the Faculty of Law.
Professor Horrigan will take up the new role in January next year, succeeding Professor Arie Freiburg.
Professor Horrigan currently holds the Louis Waller Chair of Law within the Faculty and is also the Associate Dean (Research).
Provost and Senior Vice-President Professor Edwina Cornish said the appointment recognised the leading role Professor Horrigan had played in developing the Faculty’s research profile.
“Professor Horrigan brings an outstanding record of leadership and management and is recognised nationally, internationally, and professionally for his expertise in the areas of public and corporate law and governance,” Professor Cornish said.
“I’m sure Professor Horrigan will lead the University’s Faculty of Law with the same merits that defined his tenure as Associate Dean (Research), and that he’ll continue building on the outstanding work of Professor Freiberg.”
