The Federal Government has put up $17 million for new ‘AI Adopt’ centres.
The Minister for Industry and Science, Ed Husic, has unveiled the Australian Government's Artificial Intelligence Adopt Program, aimed at supporting the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into Australian businesses.
This initiative will allocate $17 million to establish up to five AI Adopt centres across the nation.
The government is actively seeking applications from Australian businesses, industry partners, and research institutions capable of delivering comprehensive training and upskilling programs for businesses.
Each centre will focus on key priority areas outlined in the National Reconstruction Fund, creating a network of industry-specific hubs.
The hubs are intended to demonstrate the innovative potential of AI, provide guidance on the responsible and efficient adoption of AI, as well as offering specialised training to develop the skills necessary for effective AI management.
Notably, eligible businesses will receive training at no cost.
These centres will also collaborate with the National Artificial Intelligence Centre and participate in the Responsible AI Network.
